Moffat Hills

Went for a 4½ hour run in the Moffat Hills in the snow with Dave Rogers, Steffen and Trevor.
We started from Grey Mare's Tail car park, heading up Tail Burn before striking up the hill to Watch Knowe. From there we looped round Loch Skeen via Lochcraig Head, Firthybrig Head, Donald's Cleuch Head and Firthhope Rig to White Coomb. We then contoured round to Rotten Bottom for lunch stop, before heading up Cape Law, Hartfell Rig and Hart Fell. We descended via Swatte Fell and Nether Coomb Craig, with a very steep final descent down to the road at Blackhope where we'd left Dave's car.

A very cold evening with the finest of new moons, so very dark once we got underway.
A large turnout of 17 runners - Ian, Drew, Paul, Jason, Blair, Donald, Davy, Robert, Katherine, Muffy, Pat, Cat, Elizabeth, Luke, Jon, David and myself. Timekeeping, prizes and general abuse and encouragement were provided by Charlie, Dave and John, who must have been completely frozen.
