Clydebank 10k

Photos
My right knee was sore after running up Dumgoyne last night, so I decided to take photos at the Clydebank Polaroid 10k instead of racing. Ellie ran 42:09 gun time; 41:58 chip time. Eritrean athlete Amanuel Hagos was way out in front, with a winning margin of 1 minute 40 seconds.

The results are posted at Winning Time UK.

Vale of Leven 10k

15th June 2008
Lomond Shores, Balloch

Results for first 200 runners

Strong field for Scottish National 10k Road Championships, with Eritrean athletes once again taking the first 3 places.

I jogged round the hilly course with tired mind, body and legs, and finished in a time of 37:10 for 50th position. This was 97 seconds slower than last year, when I managed 35:33.

The last of the 4 Polaroid races was won by Chris MacKay in 30:59. First lady was Susan Partridge in 34:38. I finished 30th in 35:33, and was 5th V40.

There's quite a long climb and descent through the park by Loch Lomond in the first half. The second half got hotter and hotter as the clouds melted away, replaced by strong sunshine.

Dumbarton 10k

7th June 2007
Results | Series Info

The race was won by Robert Gilroy in 31:01. First lady was Lesley Chisholm in 37:14. I managed another sub-35 minute 10k, finishing in 34:38 for 25th position, and 5th V40. All the gun times seem to about 3 seconds out. My watch time was 34:35.

Deja vu from Clydebank, spending second half of the race running with Scott Kennedy.

Clydebank 10k

31st May 2007
Results | Series Info

The race was won by Robert Gilroy in 31:07. First lady was Susan Finch in 36:45. I finally scraped under 35 minutes for a 10k, finishing in 34:54 for 20th position, and 5th V40.

It was pretty rainy and slippery underfoot when we started, but dried up nicely during the race. I started off steadily enough and picked it up after about 2k, then from halfway onwards I tracked Scott Kennedy, hoping he would be running sub 35.

Dumbarton Polaroid 10k

8th June 2006
Results
Far too warm! 3rd race in the Polaroid 10k Series. I found this Dumbarton 10k much tougher than last Thursday at Clydebank. Finished in 36:44. Not helped by the fact that I'd just driven 4 hours back from Barrow-in-Furness to get to there in time. As far as I know, Glen Stewart won the race.
